MOVELOUD methodology
Music should meet your state before it moves it.
MOVELOUD does not assume one “motivational” playlist works for everyone. It combines the workout in front of you with your current mood, desired state, listening taste and feedback from previous sessions.
1. The workout determines when
Exercises, pace, intervals, rest periods and recovery shape the energy arc. Running and other cadence-led activities prioritise continuity, while strength sessions can use stronger contrast between work and rest.
2. Your taste determines what
Genre is treated as a taste boundary rather than a universal mood label. Familiarity, personal preference, rhythm, intensity and context all influence whether a song motivates, distracts or irritates.
3. Current mood and desired state are separate
A tired athlete who wants energy needs a different opening from an already pumped athlete. MOVELOUD can reinforce the state you are in or guide you toward another state in smaller, more predictable steps.
4. Familiarity supports difficult transitions
When the emotional distance is larger, MOVELOUD favours more familiar and lower-complexity music early. Discovery is introduced after the session stabilises, while familiar high-payoff tracks can return for a final push.
5. Lyrics depend on the phase
Vocals can provide motivation and emotional payoff, but they can also compete with concentration. MOVELOUD can reduce lyrical density during technically demanding or overloaded phases and bring stronger hooks back when they help.
6. The system learns from outcomes
Post-session signals such as “felt better,” “needed more energy,” “too intense,” “lyrics distracted me” and “helped me focus” adjust future energy, familiarity and vocal decisions for similar sessions.
What MOVELOUD aims to improve
The goal is not to claim a perfect song. MOVELOUD aims to support a useful mood shift, consistent pace or cadence, manageable perceived effort, workout completion and a stronger reason to return for the next session.
MOVELOUD is a workout-music planning tool, not a medical device or substitute for professional coaching. Exact audio data depends on what each connected music service makes available.
